Navy blue runner beans
« on: November 02, 2016, 19:20 »
Due to personal issues, I didn't sort my saved seed beans till late in the spring this year.  I knew I had some white lady beans, which were easily identified as white, but the enorma and scarlet emperor were hopelessly mixed up. Both are pink with purple splashes. No matter, I grew enough for all the runner bean stations and was happy with what I got.

When the freezer was full and we were sick of beans, I left them to go to seed again.  I have just been podding those that are dry enough and 3 pods produced navy blue beans! See below for a pic of the different beans. They are slightly flecked with a darker blue, but they are definitely blue.  Anyone else had this?
