Hi there , I was  wondering what the common problems are with growing vegetables and fruits,  for example slugs , and how these problems can be overcome.

Are there any vegetables and fruits that require little protection ? what ones need alot of help.

what do you want to grow?
have you searched for topics on it?

pests are pests are pests - almost everything has a pest or problem of one kind or another

As splodger says, that is one big question you've asked.

Forum members are currently contributing to an index of PESTS in the WYSIWYGGY link in my forum.  It would be worth your while checking on it over the coming weeks as it builds up.

You rather want to come from an angle of what you like to eat and what of those are considered easy to start with.
 
If you give us a list of the former people can home you in on the what and how if you are worried.

Otherwise it is a bit like Dandelion does not need protecting. and slugs defo don't like it. It's good for you though. And makes a nice drink. And roots of it are on sale mind in catalogues nowadays, good varieties I'm sure.

But if you do not like it, it does not really matter.
