The tomatoes which are outside are going a funny colour some have gone black and brown. It is getting colour and I wondered if it is too cold.  Should I take them off and ripen them in the greenhouse. I don't want to waste them . Thanks

Black & brown sounds like they may have blight?

I'd pick the ones that have no black patches on them - if you bring them indoors in the warm, they usually ripen.
Any that develop black patches should be thrown away (the good parts of the tomatoes can be used in chutney, though)

Pull up and dispose of blighted plants and brown patched tomatoes - I don't think they should be composted as they may overwinter blight spores.

Sounds like blight to me. I would follow Mums advice, although I would burn infected plants.

You sure they aren't a black variety, like black cherry? Is it the fruit going black or the foliage?
