I was wondering if large cockerels keep foxes away? Just somthing im not sure about and would be greatful for some answers.

thats a big bird!!  
Im afraid the answer is no. He will put up a fight to protect the hens and give them time to escape, sadly  though he wouldn't survive a fox.

I am amazed by what a gentleman our rooster Clive is. The girls love nothing better than cuddling under his wings at night.  I sure he would fight for them but I cant see how he would beat a fox or if he would deter one.

Can eggs be checked any way for fertility right at the beggining before they are incubated?
Ive done this before by cracking them open but was wondering that if candled at the beggining if its possible?
