I think I have pretty much decided I am going to keep chickens and originally thought 3-5 now I think it may be 6 as I have fallen in love with them all 

So my question is how big does their run have to be? I know the more the better but just wondered what the minimum is?

The figure usually quoted is a square metre per bird, but if you have room, I would allow much more than that. 

Keeping the run clean is easier and the hens are less stressed, which means less chance of bullying.  It is also great if you can make room for extras like dust baths, logs and branches to perch on and plenty of opportunities for scratching around.
