23 Marmande
7 Black Krim

30 Sungold
15 Sungold reversions from last year's seed as an experiment...

Plus a load more to give away to chums and Daughts...

The first few years after I got my polytunnel I grew 200 tomato plants!  I had loads and loads in the freezer along with other stuff incluidng over 40lbs of runner beans, and I think it was 80lbs of tomatoes.

We had eaten loads and given loads away, but that particular year the big freezer in the garage conked out and I didn't notice it for a month as it wasn't a freezer I used regularly!   :( :(

This year I am down to 47 plants!

I'll never ever get to two hundred, Grannie, but when the bruschetta season arrives, they diminish pretty damn quick!

We still have a lot from last year in our freezers, and this year, we'll only freeze the Marmande, as Sungold are too fiddly to blanch etc...

I don't blanch the little ones Growster, like you say, too fiddly.  I just chuck them in a freezer bag, take as much air out as I can, then when I use them for soups and pasta, just use the whole thing.  I blitz them up, skin and all!  No one ever complains!    ;) ;)

We do eat quite a lot though.  Pennydog follows me around hoping that I'm going to drop one, but if I do, she won't touch it until I say she can!

I think I've only got about 22, and that is to be split between my and my parents and include the seeds I sowed on Monday hoping I wasn't too late!

Limited space for seedlings this year has affected total numbers.  They'll still be tasty though....

Hannah :)

It's also a way to get some sort of crop, in case late blight kicks in!

We managed about a quarter of the crop during one particularly bad year!
