Recovering leggy seedlings.
« on: April 04, 2015, 20:18 »
I've had my seeds growing on a windowsill in my cabin at the end of the garden.  I've been using the foil trick to get some light behind them, but a quite a few are looking really leggy and thin.  Sprouts, caulis and leeks.

Are they ruined, or will they recover if I find them some more light?

Thanks.

bassica's i would start again, and as soon as they start to germinate put them some where cooler with equal sunlight. if you get a chance of frost over night then bring them in but put back out during the day.

the seeds are cheap enough to re sow, rather than waste the time and space and risk getting a poor crop.

not had much experience with leeks but can't see them being a problem, but i would say you should be able to start to putting them outside though.

Not sure about your leeks but would start again with the brassicas. Plenty of time - haven't done mine yet.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.

Thanks, I've sown a load more seed and moved them under cover outside.  Hopefully this time they will be a bit stronger!
