Aldi - big semi-mature toms, peppers, aubergines
« on: June 23, 2015, 10:45 »
For anyone who has been struggling with greenhouse crops, or who just has a bit of spare space  ;)  Aldi have a range of big plants for £2.99.

I got a Cheyenne chilli today that is covered in flowers and setting fruits.  I did intend to buy a single chilli plant earlier in the year, just to have fresh chillies to hand, but forgot  ::) This is a well grown, compact, multi-branched plant I would have been pleased to have grown myself  :)

Obviously you have to pick through the trolley a bit, but there were some nice bush cherry toms, peppers and aubergines in there.  My local shop had fresh trolleys of stock behind the tills, that were much better that the trolleys languishing outside.

I got 2 Aubergines and they're lovely healthy plants with a good amount of flowers just waiting to open. I was too late putting seed in and couldn't get them anywhere else.
My dad got a red cherry tom in a hanging basket and he's really pleased with it too.
Good value! :D
