Luckily, we've had some sunny days, so we're cloching empty beds to help warm everywhere up.

The spuds went in over the weekend, and they'll be cloched if there's colder weather looming!

So I suppose what we haven't done is leave the cloches in the shed..;0)

I've only got onion sets and shallots in down the plot. I have other seeds sown in the greenhouses, (one heated, one not depending on the seed), or indoors if they want it a bit warmer.

So to answer the question, what I've not done is sow, (or plant  :nowink: ) anything else on the plot. I like to sow seeds in a warm drill, not a cold grave.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I put a soil thermometer in about 4 inches deep yesterday. I was surprised that it was 8 degrees but the soil has been turned over in the last couple of weeks which probably helps to warm it. Shall I wait to plant potatoes until it reaches the recommended 10 degrees? Given dry weather and Spring days, probably not.

If you use a soil thermometer it is best to measure the temperature at 4 inches. Shallower than that and it varies according to the air temperature. If the soil below your seeds is warm they will keep growing.

Just tomatoes on the window sill.  We've had a hard frost to wake up to the last couple of mornings so everything else will have to wait.
