I never even earth up (I'm not looking for an argue, but it's the root methinks).

Trench is for trench celery nothing to do with root crops, even if it is celer-iac.

Also, you  don't need to shave. Have we a wizzy on this, I shall post how I do mine there. As it needs sowing pretty soon.

Mine were small but lovely. Perhaps planted a bit close together.
better sown early as poss so they get longer to grow.
If it wasn't for chemicals we'd be organic.

thanks for all the help/advice and WYSIWYGGY-ing it.   I've checked the seeds - they were deffo celeriac as they were teeny TINY little things.  Undaunted, I shall sow with gay abandon this year (soon, by the sound of it) and keep my fingers crossed!  But now I'm REALLY confused, as apparantly, I'm the only person on here who thinks celery-type foliage smells the same as flat-leaf parsley!  Am I weird?   Answers on a postcard....and just to add insult to injury, I don't get the TAGETES thing either.  I'm having a bad week...

(PS - it would appear from my efforts at the weekend that celery-type foliage goes very well chopped into parsnip soup, in case you are short of parsley....)
