Just wondered if anyone has tried this, particularly as it mentions field horsetail weed.

I haven't tried it, but I don't see this as any different to using glyphosate really, they're both man made chemicals which biodegrade harmlessly in the soil.

Is it actually certified as 'organic' by the soil association? as I thought the term 'Organic' was protected under trademark law.

It doesn't apply to "gardening products" for a start off. The Soil Association are a bit miffed about that one, as anyone can use the word under certain circumstances. But then, the Soil Association these days actually allow farmers to use chemicals in their certified growing, and yet still call the crops "organic". So, unsurprisingly, to the purist, they've been nobbled, Nobbie

To be fair to the SA, they have explained their current position by stating their original intent was to encourage the country to return to a safe, "sustainable" farming industry. The trouble is 99% of the public think Soil association certified "organic" means chemical free. It doesn't. It's a mess, hence so many people look far deeper into how their food is produced and are looking for other standards.

It does use "organic" chemicals in the scientific usage of the word.  The active ingredients are molecules that contain carbon.

If it's strong enough to kill horsetail then I don't want to mess with that stuff. Horsetail is damn near indestructible.
