Poorly peppers
« on: May 25, 2014, 12:17 »
I have a selection of sweet peppers and chilli peppers that I moved to an unheated polytunnel about 3 weeks ago.  They have started to get some odd markings on the leaves.    Pictures attached.  Have they been too cold or do they have something nasty?  I have only grown peppers outside a few years ago with no success and waited until I had a polytunnel, so I don't have much experience with them.  All help gratefully received.

It was probably a bit early/cold but the new growth still looks ok - so they should make it as the weather warms up.

They really don't look happy do they. As MoS suggests probably transplant shock but you might also want to cut back on the watering, it looks very wet !

Don't water them again until the compost is dry on top, as this way their roots will grow out seeking water, not just sit and get it arrive by them  ;)

Well the peppers have certainly improved.   So far I have harvested 1 Wenk's Yellow Hot, 1 Amy sweet wax Hungarian pepper and this Palivec hot pepper.  There are plenty more to come.    I am very pleased.
