I got some courgette plants given and he said there were 2 different types but he didnt know what they were as he had been given them.3 of them are growing normal green courgettes but the other 3 are growing yellow fruits.Is there a yellow variety its the 1st time ive grown courgettes and I know nothing about them.

There are lots of varieties - pale green, dark green, striped, round, yellow, yellow striped.

plus come in a range of shapes such as rod (like normal courgette), club, round, bulbous and also curvy/curly  ones too

I'm growing yellow ones for the first time and they are lovely. beautifully bright in salads and stir-fries!!

A lot easier to spot but I find the skin a tad tougher.

I've just had a yellow courgette as part of my tea - cut up into chunks and fried in butter and garlic... gorgeous!

I am not keen and is it just me but they dont keep as long as greens

One advantage of yellow courgettes is .....they don't produce so many fruit as the green ones!.......;-)

and you can hide them in cakes/bread and pretend it's lemon rind or parmesan....can't do that with the green ones

Delicious, but I agree the skin is slightly thicker than the green 'uns!

I haven't found that to be the case at all!  Any surplus and baby marrows are thoroughly enjoyed by my chickens so no wastage here

I make courgette crisps with mine - very tasty and requires a lot of courgette to make a decent amount. Thankfully I have a lot of courgettes...
