I'm growing these this year, and they've set loads of bright green waxy peppers so thought I'd chop one in my lunchtime salad........picked up a bit to try and  now have a burning hot mouth 

Whatever happened to the

Without the heat, subtle undertones of Ají flavour come out, with distinct smokey tastes being the most obvious.

that Real Seeds promise? 

Has anyone else had the same result?

You may have been unluckly MoS. If I remember rightly it was a hot pepper they tinkered with to remove the heat, most of the peppers they do that with throw you a hot curve ball now and then just to keep you on your toes  Nibble another and see if that's more to your taste.
