Funny eggs
« on: July 06, 2014, 16:18 »
Hi
Some of my eggs have had blood spots in the yolk which I hear can happen & are fine.
. Also had several (prob from same hen) where the white has no consistency, it's extremely watery. The eggs are not old & hens are wormed & well is it just the hot weather do you think?
But I've had one today with blood in the white - the whole thing was coloured & completely put me off! Any advice?
Thanks :)

how old are the hens and what type?
Any signs of illness? Bubbly eyes or breathing difficulty?
Is water container clean..fresh goes off to green quickly?
Free range or run only?

They're cream legbars, a year and a bit, healthy, enclosed run & also free range the garden. Have had them since day olds. Water container cleaned & refreshed regularly

I've had watery whites but only from an elderly hen with thin egg shells.
