These are a couple runty broccoli seedlings that I planted out, thought they might pick up once in the ground but now they look like they are infected with something, any ideas what's wrong with them?

Could be rain spots that burn the leaves in the sun or, more likely, something like capsid bug but they should pick up.

Have a look on your plants and see if you can see any tiny beetles. They jump when disturbed like a flee, which I would imagine is where they got the name from!

I think I can even see one in the first picture, although hard to tell with that resolution.

I can see three tiny bugs on the first picture could they be the problem.

  Indeed, I should look more carefully. What should I use to get rid of them, that won't hurt the plants, as they are so young? Is it too late to net them?
