short of root veg as carrots and parsnips not germinated, Can I still sow beetroot and swede in modules? any other suggestions please.

Surely, carrots, beetroot and swede can all still be sown now. I've often sown all three at this time with no problems at all. In fact the warmer weather just might help them from seed to early growth without any stalling. The carrots will need watching that they don't dry out before germinating.

Turnips should still be OK too.   I would put some fennel in, also possibly spring onions and salad. A lot of the oriental greens are good after midsummer, such as pak choi and mizuna.   At the end of the month I would think about spring cabbage.

I'll have to give turnips ago I might like home grown ones they would be good in soup. Sorry I don't like cabbage I have a good crop of kale psb and br sprouts coming on and salads.

3 rows of beetroots sowed yesterday and two more trays of spring onions sowed in vending machine cups plus may second attempt at parsnips in loo rolls appear to have germinated --- Wooooppppeee
