Why has the new leafs got red in them

Cos it's the time of year when the plant slowly starts to die back, to rest for next year.
Dry weather at this time of year, always make it dry back a bit quicker - mine is the same

that explains why mine have started to die back a bit.

thought i may have over done the pulling, i'll have to resist the temptation to pull any more this year now.
