slugs n spuds

the slugs have got to my main crop disiree spuds eaten some leaves and part way some of the stalks will it effect my crop.

Providing the plants have plenty of leaves, some slug damage won't affect the crop too much.  Desiree potatoes are fairly slug hardy but not totally resistant - you might find some of the skin will be chewed and one or two potatoes succumb to damage but generally you should hopefully get away with it.  If you can reduce the slug and snail population, it would be a great help.

go out at night and collect the slugs/snails. black beetles eat them
