Hi all! Dorothy (speckled Sussex) has been broody now for 6 weeks:-( And to top it off my light Sussex (betty) is lunging@ her! I have seperatd Betty.  How much longer can this go on for???

sounds like its time to separate her in a cage and snap her out of it

the others will go for her if she fluffs herself up and shows off whilst being broody

6 weeks is a long time - a cage will do the trick in a few days or 1 week at tops

Unfortunately we haven't got a cage so keep the hen house closed . Other chooks aren't bothered by her, just Betty.

Finally! Dorothy isn't broody anymore! 6.5 weeks in total! Must be a record! Betty is still in isolation, for her bullying, hope to integrate her again on Saturday

Might help to give the ex broody a tonic

make a box out of wood and use weld mesh or chicken wire for base.
make it big enough for chicken, food/water bowls. add a roof to keep dry.
when in use place on 4 bricks, 1 per corner.
