I too wish I hadn't grown so many different varieties of tomatoes. 13 in total some of which I have 2 of and lots of them seem to not be doing so well  :(

It's just so difficult to compost those weaker babies, I gave loads away (Surbie took a few) and I have loads on the allotment and at home and may be supplying my sister in law the raw materials for green tomato chutney when the blight finally hits if I'm quick enough to harvest.

Planted 4 courgette plants!

With you there, MJ!

We've got six, and keep having to give them away to people who really don't want them!

SIX!! You must be off your trolley Growster!

Yup!

Trolley overloaded!

Silly, isn't it, but we make loads of friends - then enemies!

(Actually, I've just remembered, we have eight plants down there..;0)
;0)

Ditto, I have 3 and can't use half of them.

I wash I had not
1. Planted my outdoor tomatoes so close together.  Maybe they would have stood a chance against the blight.  Lost the lot
2. Ignored the advice on the packet which said sow the salsify and thin after germination.  I sowed too sparsely poor germination rates gaps and second later sowings.
3. Discovered/identified that that I have got white rot in this years onion bed until after I had put a couple of the diseased onions in my compost bin.  Could not find them when I found out what the problem was.

Hey, Robster, salsify always does that, but keep the ones you have got going, because you'll be surprised!

I've got huge gaps in my rows, but they forgive you for that by becoming pretty impressive later on!
You can only get through a dozen or so before the end of the year anyway. They don't class as a staple, so, like parsnips, they'll probably see you through, even if there aren't the numbers you dreamed of...

...That's if you haven't dug them up already..;0)

Encouraging words Growster, thanks.  They are still in the ground and growing fine.  Its my first year with salsify so I'll not make that mistake again.  It's all about learning isn't it.

Lifting my maincrop potatoes two weeks after I'd cut the foliage down because of blight and then putting them in a big barrel to wash the soil off and then leaving overnight. I cleaned them the next day, but within a week they all starting rotting from blight. Mind you, I think the slugs had already had a field day, so lesson learned for next year.

Gone on honeymoon for 3 weeks..... The plot is covered in bindweed, ragwort and creeping buttercup  >:(

Well......  I suppose the holiday was more enjoyable than weeding to be fair  ;)

I first read the word weeding as wedding - oops! Congratulations anyway and hope the weeds don't last long.
I work very hard so don't expect me to think as well.
