Hi all
I have serious codling moth infestation each year on my allotment which badly affects my apples and plums.
I used pheromone traps last year which proved it was a MAJOR infestation. However, I don't want to spray anything that damages bee-populations. I fear there is nothing available friendly to them however. If not, I will have to forgo my crops. However, does anyone have any suggestions? thanks!
small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

thanks for that Aunty - regrettably the Codling moth females fly to the fruit, not climb like other pests. so the bands work for a lot of things, but not the actual pest which is infesting my fruit.

Unfortunately too, there is an abandoned plot behind mine which has 2 large plums trees on it, which are badly infested. No-one is managing those, so I fear I would be wasting my time anyway, as they would keep coming over from that plot. I am not sure how the plot stays unclaimed as there is supposedly a big waiting list. pah!

thanks for your suggestion though, I appreciate it

Sorry, thinking of wrong creepy crawlie  ::)

RHS  https://apps.rhs.org.uk/advicesearch/profile.aspx?PID=489#section3

Says first spray in 3rd week of June.  The bees shouldn't  be interested in the trees then as there will be no blossom.

I'd use "Bayer Provado Ultra Fruit & Vegetable Bug Killer".
