Suggested tomatoes for hanging basket.
« on: March 10, 2014, 11:23 »
Hi,

I have a hanging basket that needs re planting. I liked the idea of growing trailing tomatoes, a cherry or a small plum. Any suggestions which to buy? Hoping to grow from seed.

Thank you
My favourite weed is a raspberry ;)

I have grown Hundreds and Thousands previously - very prolific, but very small tomatoes (largest about 1cm diameter). Good for snacking whilst working in the garden though. This year I have some Gartenperle seeds (came with a magazine I think) but I cannot really comment on how good they are yet.

Tumbling Tom (comes in red or yellow) was very impressive but advise only one plant per basket. Last year I grew Yellow Pearshaped - pretty fruits, no idea what either tasted like as I don't eat raw toms LOL

I've gone for the hundreds and thousands as I love the little sweet ones. Thank you .
