one of my hens has had mycoplasma since I got her

it can flair up really bad sometime

during the last 2  weeks she has started to moult and I've noticed the mycoplasma seems to be clearing up !!!!

is it possible they can get over this awful infection

she is about 18months old and this is her first moult

Mycoplasma stays with them all their lives and will show up when they are stressed.

sassy is quite correct Myco will stay with that hen for the rest of her life - also it can be passed through the eggs to any chick that she hatches from her own eggs (so never breed from her). It is also contagious and can be passed to any other birds you have.

thanks both - I have been lucky and no other birds have ever shown any sign of it since we had her and we don't breed they are only pets , she also is a none layer - probably due to the mycoplasma , but even with suffering bouts from time to time she is one happy little chook 

vet said it can come from wild pheasants
