« on: September 29, 2013, 20:10 »
Hi all I have 9 hens I would like to run with my older stock, they have been next to the older stock for two months with just a wire between them but what ai'm worried about is are they two young to to have layers pellets which they would have access to if I were to put them together? they are 13 weeks old on rearers pellets, thanks for any help, Mike

I gave my first lot layers when they were young as they were in with others that were laying.  I was later advised to keep them on growers until they are actually laying.  This can be difficult as some might not lay for a year like some of my bantams.   ::)  It is a difficult one to answer but I would agree they are too young now and need growers until they are older.  20 weeks does sound a good compromise as you get lots of breeds that can be laying by then.
