squash still green
« on: September 21, 2013, 19:40 »
I have some good size squash but they are still green . How long can they stay in the ground.  Will they stop growing or will they just continued.  Do they loose their taste if they got to big.  How long should they be before they look like the ones beetroot queen has grown.  They are the ones that can grow into October. My pumpkins are nice and orange when should I take these off. Sorry lots of questions thanks

What variety is your squash?  Some of them are green when ripe.

Think they were gourd they were cream yellow colour like beetroot queen s.  Being in the north might take longer to ripen.  At the moment they still seem to be growing but green.  Keeping hoping the warm spell continues.
