carrot thinnings
« on: September 17, 2013, 20:04 »
Did some later carrots in big pots.  The carrots are very  thin and are growing slowly.   Will they continue to grow over the winter or  stagnant.  Will they start to grow in the spring.  Should I cover with fleece or bring into the greenhouse once the tomato are finished.

Leave them outside, they shall thicken when weather allows, won't be big, good finger carrots. ;)

Fine outside but will not grow much once we get frosts. They will not grow next Spring, just put out hairy roots and eventually go to seed. In a cold greenhouse they will continue to grow. Inside or out they are a favorite food of voles.
