Storing King Edwards
« on: September 04, 2013, 12:58 »
Hi,

I'm sure this must have been covered but i can't find anything via the search engine and a quick go on google just advises me what to do with shop bought KEs (pah!).

So, I'm a hessian sack in the shed will be just about right. Please correct me if I am wrong, I dug up rather a lot at the weekend!

Thanks,

Caroline
My husband's a water sign, I'm an earth sign, together we make mud :-)

Hessian or paper sacks, kept in racks in a dark shed. My shed has no ventilation and ended up in my spuds rotting, and the onions  >:(  You have to keep checking them to chuck out any that are going soft or have gone manky  :)  A garage, or even an unheated bedroom will do  :D  Wherever you choose make sure it's mouse proof!

Or cardboard boxes  ;)

If you keep them in the shed cover them with something to keep them warm if it turns frosty.
If they freeze they will turn to mush  :(

mine will be put in the spare room and given away - too many rats get in my garage.

Block all access then, wire wool does the trick for holes as they cant bite through that. Rat bait and you will find all will be gone within 6 weeks!
Kind Regards
Bill
