I sowed two rows on the 7th July using DD's method and I now have more peas than I have ever managed to get out of the plot.  I only used ordinary garden twine and canes as they were all I had at the time but they are sooo good that my OH has offered to get me stronger supports and twine for next year so that we can do all our peas this way.

Thanks DD I should have a freezer full of peas within a week or two :) :)

Just started harvesting mine... delicious and looking like a better crop than the Spring sown were... just 9 weeks from sowing.
I didn't use any string, but they are Klevedon Wonder dwarf, so they sort of climbed up the hooped enviromesh quite comfortably.
Will try the DD staked string thing next Spring with a taller variety, and chuck the mesh over the top.
