My Cream Legbar went broody with no eggs to sit on so I sent for  :wub:half a dozen. In the meantime I let her sit on one of Margo's eggs for 3 days.  Will it still be edible or not???  Ta

I would have thought it was ok to eat. If the shell is not damaged there should be no bacterial growth.

People have always found hidden broody clutches done the float test and if good eaten them . :)

You have to remember that the eggs will have been around 100 degrees C/37.5 degrees F for three days.  You would not store them like that normally so I would not risk being ill for the sake of a few eggs, but each to their own.   ;)

You could always feed them back to your hens though if they have not been in your kitchen.   :)
