I have a Conference pear that was grown from a cutting so its on its own root stock, it is about 8 years of and trained along a fence and its healthy except it has never produced any flowers.

I have considered root pruning but as its on a boundary that's not really an option, the next thing could be bark ringing and this is my question, has anyone done this and is there any practical advice to be had?

I have a conference/beure louise family tree, not a single flower in six years,so I bark ringed it early may, and have since had one flower on some new growth,so hopefully it has done the trick!!I'll update next spring.

I remember when I was a boy "just" My GrandFather saying "plant a pear for the heir" they didn't have the new rootstocks then ! So possibly as it's not on a rootstock it could take a long time .
