Does anyone know of anywhere that provides free/cheap manure in the north east? County Durham or Tyne and Wear would be awesome.

Look up horse stables in your yellow pages. All three of the stables within a mile of here give away manure...and very effective it is too, if my strawberries are anything to go by.

b) Do you know for certain that herbicides haven't been used on the field?

Last time I past the sign saying free manure hung on the gate post is the first give away and to answer B ask the field owner before you take
