[Growster...]

These are a new one for us this year. We found them by accident in a pub lunch (how a pub lunch can be an 'accident' is slightly mysterious, but there you go..;0), and one day, Twongos had a jar on the shelves!

So next year, they're joining Mrs Growster's pepper production paraphernalia, and I wondered where everyone else gets their seed from?

Any ideas please?

We grew something called "patio peppers" one year Growster and these were the same sort of size and shape as the piquant ones you get in a jar. Can't remember the seed company, but it is a search term you could google.

I was looking through the various sites, Arugula, and it seems they're not produced commercially here - yet!

They're not expensive, but 29p a seed is a consideration... mind you, the amount we'd get through, we'd need a lorry-load..;0)

The seeds came from eBay, I wouldn't have bought something like that from a seller outside the UK but I suppose they might have been selling seeds that originated elsewhere (without saying so).

One website describes them as a cross between a chilli and a cherry tomato, so in some ways, I suppose yes!

I don't think such a veg is possible, but it fits the description!

The Papecchia and the Ciliegia are tomato shaped and like the cheese-stuffed ones in jars. I've got papecchia for next year/November sowing, depending on whether my chillies this year make it through winter.

Both of these look about right, Surbie and Mums, thank you for the advice!

I like the idea of starting them in November too, as about then, everyone really wants to do something for the coming season, well we do (except try overwintering broad beans which just don't work for us), and another potential greenhouse plant sounds particularly attractive!

(They'd certainly be in your Tesco at Crooksfoot, Mums, although they're not supplied stuffed in the jar, you need to go to Jempsons in Peasmarsh or even here, to get those with feta cheese)!

They don't have ones named exactly the same, but they do have a huge variety of chillies.  I have found them to be reliable when I have bought things in the past.
