The engines can't take any more cap'n!

Talking about my Tigrellas.
One truss has over 4 doz flowers on it. If it takes after the lower trusses that only have about half that number to a truss, there won't be any blind ones either. The engine room can't possibly cope with that type of demand can it? Do I leave them all on and give extra feed? Will I get smaller toms if I leave them on? Do I take some off in order to take the strain off the plant and hopefully get bigger toms? Looks like I shall be getting a glut anyways, so I reckon theres nothing to lose by nipping a few off.

I would leave it to its own devices (apart from routine maintainance o'course  :))just to see if it can cope. If you have plenty of other toms it's worth a punt.  P

I'd be adding another stake to take the load so the stem doesn't snap and adding a bit extra feed. Might as well take all you can get.

Unlike something like apples, I've never found a single tom to grow any bigger than a cluster of them.

Some of mine keeled over the other day in the heat and there's not tomatoes weighing them down yet  :nowink:   They're trussed back up again now
