 Hi Everyone 
This may sound a daft question as the plant is growing fine but I just wondered if anyone else has come across this before. I usually grow my beans up an 8ft wigwam but read so much good stuff about the munty frame I thought I would give it a go this year. I set my Scarlet Emperor beans as normal in pot noodle pots in the greenhouse, (as I find they get a good deep root structure) & then transplanted them under the new munty frame, they are all growing well, some faster than others but one of them has grown with 3 flat stalks about 1cm wide which are very ridged instead of the normal thin round stalks. The best way to describe them is to say they look like the flat twin & earth electrical lighting cable. I've only been growing for about 7 yr's but my Dad & Granddad both grew lots of runner beans & I don't remember seeing anything like this before. As I've said before I only have a small veg plot in the back garden so no allotment friends to ask.
Any thoughts ?

It's called fasciation if you want to Google it and find out more 

I'd just cut that one out as I doubt it will crop properly

I had a tomato that did this last year. The stem got flatter and flatter and more ridged and the plant seemed to have no intention of producing fruit so in the end it had to go ....... but I did find it very interesting. Didnt know the condition had a name. So thanks to mumofstig for the information
