I have a 3yr old grapevine that seems to have some kind of droplets all over the stems. They look like the silica you get in the packets with new shoes definitely not any type of egg as it has being doing this since early last year. I don't know the variety but it is a black grape and is planted direct in the gh border.A neighbour who has had vines for years hasn't seen it before and surmised it was the sap coming out the pores is this the case or something more?

When did you prune it,or has it got damaged? They bleed if pruned when not dormant.

I  pruned it in the winter when dormant and have only pinched out the tips of this season. The droplets are all over the plant not just where it has been cut.

Is this on the new growth and the stalks of the leaves? If so, it is normal and nothing to worry about.

Real food- Its also on the  old as well as the new growth, Aunt Sally definitely not insects. Whatever it is the vine itself is in great health and is growing away very well.
