They will be ok if they have a root system that holds the soil together when you tip the module out. I'v just done mine with a few leaves and a few roots.. all taken no probs.
I have a very small garden so 'every seed is sacred  ::)' and I start mine off in modules.  They are doing really well now after being transplanted.  I think as long as they have enough water and nutrients before being transplanted, they will be fine.  Btw BQ, I never had any success with radishes before I read DD's cat litter tray thread, and I've had some lovely ones (bought the Gigante Sardono from Premier Seeds as I liked the really big ones they sell in Tescies for £1 a bunch) since.
Aw Murphy, I can deffo empathise there after eating half a jar (ok, 2/3) of Aldi baby beets...was very worrying!

I've never had any success with beetroots in pots  :( Even when I've sown them in really deep pots. Get lots of lovely leaves but no yummy globe under them!

I have heard severwl people say this lately, do you pull them too soon. I cant understand why people struggle with beets. Mind you i cant grow raddish  ::) i did twice i think it was at the start but since then i cant get them right. Its obviously duff seeds

Ha ha, definitely didn't pull them too soon - I left them for months hoping they'd pull themselves together!! I'll try sowing them direct down the allotment when I've got it ready :)
