I noticed a lot of mice living in my compost bins so have set some traps.

The dead mice are put back in the compost bin. Any problem with this?

What do you do with you dead mice?

We put ours (victims of our cats) in the rubbish bin.

eat 'em    well the cat does

I know you can compost small animals in your heap, but I would like it to be a very hot heap, not like mine which tends to stay just warm. Personally I'd ere on the side of caution and bin them. You can't be sure what disease's etc they may be carrying.

Bob Flowerdew goes in for extreme composting, he has a deer in his heap!

I bin mine as well, otherwise neighbouring cats damage the bin trying to get at them. Something attractive to them about the smell of rotting mice. Ugh. No idea if it attracts the rats.
