I double dug half of my first raised bed today and added manure from the allotment free for all pile.  I have no idea if it is well rotted or not - you could still see some  lumps of the original source material but it didn't smell and crumbled quite easily.

So, can I plant into it now or should I wait?  If I can plant now I intend to plant peas in the next few days, and dwarf french beans and sweetcorn when/if the weather is warm enough.  They are all seedlings so I'm not sowing direct

If it wasn't smelly it should be fine 

Peas and beans don't need lots of manure - but they'll grow in it just fine - the sweetcorn will love it - as will courgettes/squash or pumpkins
