I would agree with the smaller , the better. I've got some 25mm netting and butterflies just ignore it. Another problem is the two young, daft black birds I've caught - not good!
Must look into this scaffolding mallarkiness!

Our local scaffolding people can't re-use stuff under a certain length which is the right size for our beds.  we just pop along and they say help yourself it's usually just sat in a skip. I do spend my evenings sewing any holes up including the cable tie holes that run along the coloured strips lol it's just like repairing fish netting

Had my kids plastic sowing needle and string out this afternoon sowing holes, sowing lengths together . .  . Very proud of my makeshift brassica cage . . . Hope it does the job!
