Morning all,

Do mice just eat the peas (seeds) or do they nibble and eat the emerging seedlings?

Or is it the pigeons that eat the seedlings.....

Yes, it's normal for the mice to eat the peas and the pigeons to eat the shoots.

Growing under cloche seems to do the trick. Just add liberal amount of slug pellets to deter slugs for good measure! I sowed one batch late March and another batch two weeks later. First batch about 3" tall now.

i sow peas in tubes, then plant as emerge and surround with chicken wire around support canes.
