I think it might be a kind of wild raspberry, although it doesn't quite fit.  Sorry the pictures are a bit blurry.  Flowers are just finishing - like very small Rosa rugosa, bright pink.

looks like a wildrose has cross pollinated with a cultivated one one of my neighbours grows loads of roses so we get them popping up from time to time

Does that fit with the size?  The leaves are about 3cm long (base to tip) and the flower, although it looks like a wild rose, is very small (about 2cm across, five petals) and flowering at this time of the year seems a bit early for a rose.  The ovule is like a tiny raspberry.
