There must be something about silkies as one of my chicks this year pretended to be one of the "girls" till s/he was about 5 months old! The hens treated her like one of them...s/he wheedled her way into their henhouse, whilst Buster the bigger cockerel (from the same brood) was forbidden to enter the boudior! By the time that this cheeky chappie had shown himself to be male, the girls had learnt to tolerate him in their henhouse! He thus manages to give Buster a wide berth and grab the girls first thing in the morning before they get out for a liason with Buster!!
Maybe it's all part of a grand silkie plan...Buster is a cross, Cheekie Cappie is a pure silkie...are the silkies trying to take over and because they're smaller they have to be a bit clever about it...??!
