Our rents have remained the same as last year - £20.  The rent does not generate funds for outside of the allotment community as it is ring-fenced.  All the 7 sites rent is pooled and used to pay for site improvements, fencing, water etc...  There is an annual meeting which site reps attend to advise the council what is needed and the council decide which site gets the investment, sounds fair.

Ours are £123 a year for a full size plot.  Water in bowsers on site.  Lots of manure delivered free.  Not much else.

Thats how it should be,but i think a lot of councils use them as money making scams nowadays.

Our rents rise by £2 or £3 every year, this year we will pay £48 for a full plot which is 30ft by 90ft, secure site, water and toilets.....can't complain at that.

Mine is £79.75 for 11 rods (£7.25 per rod).  This includes water, a quarterly news letter, an annual show, various competitions (best plot, scarecrow, pumpkin), an annual BBQ (bring your own drink and food).  There is also an annual lecture but this is open to all people not just allotment holders.  We get occasional deliveries of leaves and wood chips, but no manure.  We do not have a communal toilet or shop but one lady takes an annual seed order.

The rent has gone up by quite a lot in the last 10 years I have had the plot.  I cannot remember what my first bill was, about £40 I think.  According to the council’s accounts, the rent still does not cover their costs by quite some way.  I am happy with the rent as is particularly considering that I live in a very expensive part of the country!

Ours were £12 four years ago,now £50.
When i asked if the site cost the council money to run at £12 a year they said no.
On our site its basically pay your money, the council does nothing at all down there, and i mean nothing.
So i cant understand how an £80 plot costs the council to run the site?
Most sites are surely council owned and paid for long since so no money to pay for the land,we have no allotment officer, there is no shop, toilet, commitees, maintenance or anything, all they have to do is collect the rent.Any plot that comes vacant is halfed and both halfs let at full price, the new tenants even have to fence it off in half themselves, there is no clearance of overgrown plots for new tenants.
So how comes these councils cant cover their costs?

Ours in Gorefield are £15 for a full plot. Trouble is there is no water, sheds or storage.

I'd be happy to pay more if there was a water supply. It's just a patch of land behind an old council estate. It's a real pain carrying water in the summer months. Heavy too :(

I think it's very reasonable where I am:

Full Plot £54.50
Half Plot £41.00

There's mains water and you're allowed sheds/ponds/chickens.
There's concessions for pensioners/unemployed & people who are registered disabled of:
Full Plot £38.15 Half Plot £28.70

I finally get to start on my new half plot next week!

just to update now I have my plot.

It's £65 for this year. It's 15*10meters. We have water troughs, parking, drop off areas, maintained paths between all plots, toilets, kitchen, use of tools and barrows, use of a trailer. The committee run events and competitions and they ask for a contributions for these.

The agreements are drawn up by surveyors and each individually signed and to be fair this cost just about covers surveyor and admin time.
