I have posted before about my Ancona, Zsa Zsa. I bought her last March when I first started keeping chickens and she laid  beautiful white eggs. Later she developed a lump & I thought she was egg bound, so did the steam & bucket of hot water thing. Eventually I took her back to the breeder who said it was a tumour & to cull her. I couldnt do that so brought her home. A few months later she moulted, turning into a stunning looking girl, & the lump disappeared and today I found a glorious white egg in the coop!!!!  (it has to be hers as all the others lay brown or blue eggs)  Its a bit of an odd shape  but nevertheless it is an egg.  I noticed yesterday that she kept disappearing into the coop for ages and even into the new duck coop  so I was sort of suspicious.

I am SO happy I kept her!!!!

I am so happy for you and Zsa Zsa. Everyone loves a happy ending.
Three years ago we had a chicken that lost the use of her legs, fell or something. We tended to her like this for at least 3 week, cleaning her bottom and bringing her in at night to sleep in the spare bedroom. The vet didnt tell us to cull her but was very surprised that she, not only survived but kept her place at the top of the pecking order. She's still the top chicken and looking  better than ever.
Lets hope Zsa Zsa has a long and happy life, thanks to you!
