I got tempted again and bought some Sugar Cane seeds from America.
Has anyone tried it here or have any tips?

I grew up abroad where the main agriculture was sugar cane - normally sugar cane is grown from pieces of the stem laid horizontally in the soil so I don't know how well the seed will germinate.  Sugar cane need lots of warmth (30oC +) and good sunshine to grow and it can reach about 6 feet tall in ideal conditions by the 2nd year when it is then cropped.  Sunlight is essential for photosynthesis to produce the sugars - I'm not convinced it will do that well in the UK but it may grow in a greenhouse.

I think the same. Sugar cane is an equatorial tropical crop and can't tolerate frost. Unless you have a heated greenhouse, I don't think it will work.

Thanks, but as I looked into it more, the more obvious it was that the seeds I bought are not actually Sugar cane seeds.
It seems more likely they are Sorghum seeds which the supplier also sells.
I am now waiting for him to reply to my email asking if it is a mistake.
