They're a good all round spud, but slugs like them.

The best part of my crop split last year with the sudden rain, whilst other varieties didn't. The slugs found it even easier to get in.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I found the same as DD.

I had a sack for eating and they were very nice. I had a few left in the bottom of the sack  so planted them out. They produced a really good crop of slug holed potatoes :D

They can get very large & make a nice jacket potato but as DD & Spana say can split if we have lots of rain after a dry spell.

I grew them last year and they gave a very good crop. Would have had some whoppers but for the dreaded b****t.

Got more ordered for this year.

Mine were completely eaten by slugs in spite of slug pellets and Nemaslug.   I assume they saved my other spud varieties nearby because the slugs were too busy scoffing the Picasso.
Sometimes my plants grow despite, not because of, what I do to them.

They sound more like a companion plant to keep the slugs away from your other spuds!

we grew picasso last year and will be growing them again this year.  had a very good crop despite lack of rain and did not water them. only a few with splits and almost no slug damage and they are storing well also got blight so tops were cut off early.

Mine were OK the previous year, when the hard winter had killed off a lot of the slugs, but were riddled the year before.

They're off my list now.

Grew them last year - there were supposed to be disease resistant but as it was so wet they got blight - so I had to harvest a bit early . A bit of splitting and slug damage - but I got a really good crop that stored well. In my opinion they were very tasty to eat and good for roasting / baking . I am growing again this year as a result.

excellent all rounder well worth growing, not blight resistant tho and will split with dry conditions.
good dose of chimney soot keeps the slugs off.

I found them excellent with the exception of last year when they had lots of slug damage.  The best bakers I've ever grown.  Wonderful flavour.   It was an awful year for slugs last year.
