I only got my plot in May this year so didn't get the chance to put a great deal in. Ideally I want to grow more onions, carrots and parsnips next year. I got a good crop of brassicas this year, especially cabbage, caulis and swede, but would like to get some sprouts in too. I'm also going to give celery a shot, but this year I'll stick to growing tomatoes at home in the greenhouse.

I'm even going to grow some flowers

This year has been so challenging I don't think I'll be trying any risky experiments next year, although I will have a go at producing some early French beans in the greenhouse in the hope of getting them to crop before the outdoor runner beans.

Cucumbers are a challenge every year for me although I don't suppose that will stop me trying yet again (at least they don't finish up taking too much space!)  :D
Will definitely be hoping to be less successful growing slugs and snails than this year!
Sow your seeds, plant your plants. What's the difference? A couple of weeks or more when answering possible queries!

I just plan to harvest more than I did last year - weather permitting.

I haven't got any special plans or anything new - mainly grow a bit of everything.  I'm pleased with this year's Oca and intend doubling up the space dedicated to them.  I will also be making an extra effort to grow swede (2 years on the trot I've missed out for one reason or other - both my fault)

2012 generally wasn't too bad a year for me - not many outright failures, just one or two things would have done better if it had been a bit warmer and there had been more sunshine.  So fingers crossed 2013 will be better.

My growing plan for 2013 is fill my allotment with the plants, fruit bushes, and seeds I have ordered or already bought.  My problem is I have enough in my plan to fill four times the space I actually have !

Well i only got my allotment four months ago, (hasnt been used for four years and is/was very overgrown) and im also a total noob, but the plan is...
First earlies (possibly a main crop if all goes well) runners, broad and sweet peas, sprouts, turnip, swede, cauliflower, broccoli and cabbage, onion sets, carrots, parsnips, beetroot, garlic, sweet potatoes, spring onions, tomatoes, chilis, sweetcorn, radish and leeks. (so far anyway)
And things im going to try for s**ts and giggles are...
Giant turnip, giant bulgarian leek, dragon purple carrots, white beetroot, elephant garlic, saint joseph cauliflower, amish paste tomato, exploding cucumber and borage.

I do like a challenge.

Exploding cucumber sounds brilliant - why didn't I think of that for seed-based Christmas giftage!

Borage is fabulous - bees love the flowers, but they are also beautiful in cocktails and salads. Mine needed a lot of staking though!

Oh wow, that borage looks brill! and i bought the exploding cucumber from realseeds. im sure they gift wrap too if you ask.

because i have claggy clay soil with loads of rocks in im thinking about growing the leeks in my makeshift raised planters that i get free from work (photo below) but im not sure wether to fill them up with compost or do half soil half compost (gonna have to do some reading i think)

and DD, from what ive been reading i think you may have some success with that plan!
