and whilst some may be quieter than others this doesn't mean any breed is quieter than another breed. personally I would say if you have neighbours than don't get a cockerel - in summer they can start crowing at 3.30 in the morning and the sound can carry a long way.
Staffies are softer than you think.

if they complain to the council then the council can make you get rid of the cockerel. Besides you do not need a cockerel when keeping hens plus crowing at 3.30 in the morning is not an acceptable noise to most people.

From the mental picture you're building up, I'm begin to see why.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

I think your question is answered anyway!

I had horrible neighbours once who were deliberately noisy at 6 every morning to wind me up.  I did the opposite of what I really wanted to do (move) and I bought them nice gifts instead.  What a difference! They coudn't do enough for me after that!!!

Charm is a clever tactic - some eggs for them given with a smile?

Just wondering why you want a cockerel? Not that there is anything wrong with that! :)

i just like the look of most cockerels... and have enough room for one.
so i thought i would re-home one.
but that may not be possible...... as mentioned above :(
