TURKEY!
I'd love to have a pet turkey but my husband wont let me  :(

That is why I didn't tell my hubby and just bought some fertile eggs for my broody bantam hen!

I like the idea... I can hear it now... "well I was told they were hen eggs..."

Hannah

No, I couldn't lie.  I just told him that I had Christmas dinner sorted!!!   ::)

GrannieAnnie, I like that design, alot, but how do the birds get to the top ?

I notice in the setups thread, not many pictures of inside the sheds?

As requested Here is an old shed converted to chicking coop
My design.
the shed is off the ground there is a vent on the top and at the back a  wire mesh opening with hinged cover for summer cooling.
the nest box has a sliding lid. no felt on the roof so as not to harbour mites.
Cannot show the inside as it is beeing used to store barley straw. I now have one hen (and she is housed in a smaller hutch)
Inside there is a perch across the hut about 18" up in the middle.
Hope this helps
Cannot get all the picks on if you e-mail me I will send you the rest.

Hi, have only just joined forum.  But have (hubby) converted a 12' x 10' into chicken heaven.
Partitioned 6'x7' area off with external (but still in shed) nest boxes (4), poop shelf 18 inches off floor and perches on two sides (long and short) so can still put feed and drink under and out of way of poop.  Shelf is about 18" wide to give extra 'floor space' when wet as I poop pick every morning and can lift either or perch out to give space.  Will try the whole photo thing at weekend when kids around to help!  Vent area into shed on door and in wall.  Hope this helps
